Top: I used the Simplicity 4483 pattern as the base and then fabricated the
collar and sleeves myself. The collar took a lot longer than I thought it would with the embroidery and
gold trim. I sewed the collar down on the outside because it had a tendency to flip up when it was loose.
I also added the purple band around the bottom because the pattern called for a much narrower band and then made the
bow and sash which were attached with snaps.
Skirt: The skirt made from scratch. I took all my measurements again and then made four rectangles (four because
the fabric wasn't really thick and I wanted it to be lined so it wouldn't be transparent.) I then basted the outside and lining together, then
stiched them together at the hips. I then turned it under at the top and made an area for the elastic and fitted it to myself. To finish, I
hemmed the sides and bottom. It was simpler than I thought it would be especially after the trouble I had with the top. : )
Accessories: To finish this costume off I made some earrings and the necklace with some various sized blue agate stone, gold, and red glass beads. The
belt was made from navy blue cord which I made into the various lengths etc and then burned the ends to keep them from fraying and stiched to keep them together.
The wig was a New Look wig (Roni) that I bought from Cosworx.
The last pic was what I used to make the collar embroidery.
