I bought the fabric for this off of the internet which I'll never do again if the color matters. How can something look purple
on the monitor and then be so red?
Dress: The dress was based on the Simplicity 4484 pattern which is basically a square necked bodice vest. I just extended the bodice down to about knee
length and moved the zipper from the bottom of the pattern to the top so I could get into it as a dress. For the sleeves I used Vogue 7733. To get them to fit to the
Simplicity pattern I changed the Sim. pattern at the sleeves to what the Vogue pattern called for which was a very small change. I also made the bottom of the sleeves bell
shaped instead of having the part in the back that hangs down farther. Just get a yard stick and measure the shortest length all throught the bottom so it will be even.
Skirt: I used Vogue 7427 for the skirt which is a simple elastic waist full skirt. If I made it again, I would have rather used a pattern with a waist and zipper. The only thing
different about this was it had three layers. (Black dull satin, red crepe, and the black mesh) So, it wasn't done any different than the pattern instructions, just with more layers.
Accessories: The wig was New Look brand (Naomi) bought from Cosworx. The only thing I didn't like about it was that
I couldn't cut any bangs into it. I was afraid the curls would start coming apart and frizzing if I messed with them too much. It was fun though. Really bouncy. : )
Thanks to Sky Pirate for the first pic! ^_^
